The Great Wall at Jinshanling will be closed on 1st June 2017

The Great Wall at Jinshanling is going to be closed from 1st June 2017, a notice released by local authority in Hebei Province today. The announcement indicates that the road and other infrastructure will be improved to accommodate visitors in future. The reopening is unknown currently and the closure is expected to be 4 months at least. Jinshanling is located in Luanping County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. It’s a great combination of both untouched and restored parts of the Great Wall. It’s also a popular place for photographers from both home and abroad. If you’re planning visit Jinshanling, you have to find alternates at Gubeikou, Mutianyu, Jiankou and other sections of the Great Wall. Blockage from Jiankou to Mutianyu

The Mutianyu authority started to build blockage from Jiankou to Mutianyu on 30th March. The entrance at Watch Tower 20 was closed off. It is still manageable if you are willing to climb over the 60cm-high wall next to the entrance. The hike from Jiankou to Mutianyu now is becoming increasingly popular. It’s a pity that the doorway was blocked.
